My name is Darcy and I have been writing stories since I learned how to write sentences. I grew up in a devoutly religious, Mormon family in Utah and left the United States altogether at 23 years old to pursue higher education abroad. I attended Regent's University London to gain a degree in English while living in the greatest literary city in the (English) world, London.
Books have always been a way of escape for me, and being a self-learner with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, I read all genres and experimented in writing in all genres. During my undergrad, I split my focus between writing fiction, memoir, and art history reviews. At this time retired my personal blog, darcymae.com, which had a history of being a religious blog while I grappled with the role Christianity played in my life. I began writing on Medium, sometimes about my early childhood, sometimes short stories from my imagination, and other times about my interests and hobbies.
My articles about yoga were quickly picked up by Medium editors and I started building an audience. Everything came to a halt when the insidious nature of a stranger stole my safety. I am bravely reemgering from under an alias to reclaim my online space and get back to business.
SALT Wellness is my latest brain-child and passion project; It is a sister publication to my digital yoga studio SALT Yoga. SALT stands for strong, aligned, light, and transendent.
